Using Skype and iChat in the Classroom

There are several tools that allow you to connect with other teachers. These software titles include:

Apple iChat (//www.apple.com/macosx/features/ichat///)
Skype with Video (
//www.skype.com//)
MSN Messenger (//get.live.com/messenger/features//)
Yahoo Messenger (
//messenger.yahoo.com//)
AOL Instant Messenger (
//www.aim.com//)
SubEthaEdit (Mac Only) allows you to setup groups, control access to files shared; must be logged in under a name so that users are identifiable.
Using these messaging tools can also be an opportunity to model appropriate use of online chat applications and cover content relating to Internet Safety.
